Young Forum

Welcome to the overview of young forum events for students, PhDs and young professionals during and around the BMT congress 2022! 

The participant limit for the pre-conference event "Junges Forum BMT 2022" has been reached. If you are interested in participating in this event, please join the waiting list on the conference webpage. You will be contacted if a spot becomes available.
All young academic events held at the conference are without prior registration.
 

PARTICIPATE IN EVENTS: 

Junges Forum BMT 2022 - "Medical Technology – crossing borders"

In addition to the conference program, an educational and networking event for bachelor, master, graduate and PhD students as well as young professionals ("Young Forum BMT") will take place the day before the conference (27.09.2022), organized by VDE Young Net in cooperation with DGBMT, ÖGBMT and SSBE. This year's lectures and workshops will focus on different abilities and soft skills in the field of medical technology. Together with you, we not only want to cross national borders but also establish international contacts and offer the opportunity to get to know other disciplines and topics. In addition, you can expect an exciting and exclusive tour through the MED-EL company.

The Young Forum event takes place at the UMIT TIROL and on-site of the company MED-EL:

  • 8:45: Meeting in front of MED-EL
  • 9:00-12:00: Guided tour at MED-EL and city tour
  • 12:00: Transport to UMIT TIROL (~30 min)
  • 13:00: Lunch break
  • 14:00-14:30: Keynote lectures from sponsors
  • 14:30-17:00: Softskill workshops
  • 17:15: Bus transfer to the conference location
  • 18:00-20:00: Evening program at the conference
  • 20:00: Social program in beer garden (booked up, only waiting list available)

In addition to the satellite event, the young forum BMT hosts an event on every conference day, addressing young academics specifically:
 

Lunch with Leaders:

Young biomedical engineers can interact with leaders in biomedical research and industry in a separate area during the lunch break. They can be part of a pleasant conversation during this lunch/coffee session and enjoy this moment to share experiences and nurture current knowledge. People will be matched according to their interests and scientific background as well as to the corresponding society from their country. The chairmen of the various technical committees (Fachausschussvorsitzende), as well as representatives of leading companies and university professors, will be invited to discuss exclusively with you.

Junges Forum trifft Alte Hasen:

In the "Junges Forum trifft Alte Hasen" format, personalities who have spent their entire academic and industrial professional lives in the field of medical technology are invited to pass on their knowledge and experience to the next generation. Young medical technicians learn directly from the experienced "Alten Hasen" and can ask questions and enter into a cross-generational dialogue. This years guest is the founder and managing partner of MED-EL Dr. Ingeborg Hochmair-Desoyer.

Unternehmens-"Tinder":

During a break-out session, participants can meet different representatives from companies and look for similarities between their perspective on future work and what the companies have to offer. For companies seeking for highly talented and committed staff, this is a good opportunity to interact with young talents and leave a good impression on future potential employees. The event takes place in a relaxed atmosphere and allows for easy conversations with different companies and people.

With the Young Scientist Sponsorship Package you have the opportunity to present your company to young scientists within the framework of this event and the other formats and to make contact with this target group. The package includes a booth/talk at the Young Forum, an organized guided tour of the booth as part of the industry exhibition and participation in the ‚Lunch with Leaders‘.
